View looking east from Manitoba Cemetery. Amazing light and wind and surrounded by storm. Gods of War preparing for Amiens 100. Taken 1700 hours today. Amazing light.

Shamelessly stolen from a FB Egyptology page I follow but too good not to share.

Binlerce yıl öncesinin izlerini taşıyan Troya’dan, yüzyılın destanı Çanakkale’ye… Tarih; bu topraklarda hem kahramanların hem de medeniyetlerin hikâyesini fısıldıyor.
Militaria time. Now this French coat is an old warrior. Mothed and torn. No nap to cloth. Note different iron grey pocket flaps. No re-enforcing straps for hip pockets either. 1916 dated. I have a full set of buttons but I don’t think I will restore this old Poilu? It was a gift.

The original graves of Cpl Tomich M.M. and Lance Cpl Kenyon before being exhumed and relocated to Assevillers New British Cemetery, Somme. Photos of graves today taken a couple of weeks ago.

Royal Tank Regiment Colours as seen at St Mary’s Aldermary in the City of London yesterday. They have used the church since 2007.

I’m afraid I couldn’t agree more, the 61st has almost been erased from the story, I’ve even heard it said that “it was an Australian battle”, the entire right half of the attack has drifted off down the Layes.
