This is Larry Williams. A LEGEND of the trading world. He holds the World Cup Trading Championships record of 11,376% & is probably the mentor of your mentor! Here are 8 trading gems from his teachings: 🧵

I believe deep work is what separates winners from losers in the modern age. Too many people are glued to their phones, unable to focus. Constant distractions make it very hard to get anything done. Shallow work gets you nowhere. If you want to master a craft, you MUST…
Consuming information is important. But often is completely meaningless. Why? True learning comes from active practice. Without putting things into practice, you are far more likely to forget what you’ve learned.
When I was a struggling trader... I chased fancy, complex solutions. From ridiculous technical analysis tools to over-the-top risk management protocols. Now I know: it was all noise. Simple is better.
The markets present endless noise and chaos. Your job as a trader is to find order in that chaos. You must build a framework to make it happen.
If you’re a trader... Then you know patience is everything. But nothing kills patience faster than NEEDING the money. That NEED makes you impulsive & impatient. And when that happens, trading becomes a battle you can’t win.
As a trader, there are no excuses. You can't blame your boss or co-workers. All responsibility falls on you. If you fail to take accountability, you will struggle.
Want to fast-track your trading success? My advice: 1. Commit to the long game. 2. Find a great mentor. 3. Show up every day. Forget shortcuts, just consistency 🤝
Demo trading has its place. You can learn how to execute trades etc. But you only truly start to learn when the stakes are real.
I used to obsess over new trading concepts and entry techniques. But it’s all just noise. Sure, having an edge is KEY. But constantly chasing the latest “new thing” in trading is a waste of time.
5+ losses in a row used to be my danger zone. That's where frustration & delusion would build. The odds of making a poor decision would skyrocket. Now, it’s no longer an issue because I’ve been through it and built a framework to handle it. It still pisses me off though lol
Uninterrupted deep work is a superpower. Most people are constantly distracted. IMO it is the key to getting ahead.
I recently had a small trading 'epiphany' An aha moment that feels like a leap forward. We have all had them and they are fantastic. But also brutally exposing. You suddenly strip away the self-delusion and realize what the hell was I thinking 🤣
The amateur trader hides from their issues. Constantly going around in circles. The professional faces every small issue and conquers it.
The downfall of a lot of traders is their time horizon. They think in days or weeks. Forget that. Think in months and years.
Your ambition means very little. Every trader wants to make millions. What matters is the actions you take toward those goals.
Dopamine addiction will completely ruin your productivity. It makes concentration & focus so difficult. Break the habits or remain unproductive.
