The major reason our traffic is bad is just because nobody is taught traffic rules at the time of issue of license. Period. Remedy that and 90% of our woes go. The existing infra is capable of handling at least twice as much traffic if everybody follows rules.
Spoiler alert, Helmets and seat belts do not contribute to safe driving behaviour on the roads by even 1%. It only prevents death AFTER an accident! (Don’t misunderstand me, I passionately advocate their use). But we are spending way too much on catching these two rule…
