The Packers announced that Colorado receiver Will Sheppard has signed. They also announced that they had signed kicker Mark McNamee to replace recently released Alex Hale. The Irish-born McNamee joins through the team's International Player Pathway Program.
#Packers set Zach Tom's base salary at $1.206 million in '25, so his salary cap number will be around $7.4M. Puts #Packers slightly more than $31 million under the cap. Plenty of room to do another extension or two or be a player in acquiring a veteran through trade.
Tom's deal includes a $30.2 million signing bonus, which exceeds David Bakhtiari's franchise record for an O-lineman of $30 million.
Can confirm @rapsheet report that the #Packers have agreed to terms with right tackle Zach Tom on a 4-year, $88 million deal. He is now under contract through the 2029 season, according to a source. Getting done today avoids any kind of hold-in while Tom waited to get deal done.

Freak deal with Alex Hale. Suffered an eye injury while working out and needs to take several weeks off. #Packers can't let Brandon McManus do all the kicking, so they had to let him go. It's possible he returns, but depends on who #Packers pick up and how it goes.
#Packers have released K Alex Hale off the non-football injury list. He was their international pathway player, which means that spot is open.

#Packers are not announcing any extensions today despite what GM Brian Gutekunst said today about using up cap space. They were able to apply Alexander’s remaining pro-rated $10 million to this year’s cap, I’m told.
Turns out Melton is still taking some reps at receiver. The next Travis Hunter?
#Packers have moved WR Bo Melton to CB. GM Brian Gutekunst said they love his play on special teams and coaches were open to seeing him on defense. His brother Max is a starting CB for the #Cardinals.

Green Bay Packers are going to release cornerback Jaire Alexander jsonline.com/story/sports/n… via @journalsentinel
The #Packers remove $16.8 million of cap space with the release of Alexander and will be on the hook for $9.5 million of his contract next year. They are now more than $45 million under the cap.
The #Packers had a trade in place with another team earlier in the year, but the other team wouldn’t pay Alexander’s full $17M salary. Alexander didn’t want to take less and do the trade never happened. The die was cast early in the off-season.
Can confirm @RapSheet report that the #Packers are releasing CB Jaire Alexander today. They never got close an agreement and were stuck in limbo with no solution. The team wasn’t going to pay him full salary and he knew he’d make more on the open market than what GB would offer.
Matthew Golden watched life disintegrate after his family home was taken. He spent a night in Walmart’s parking lot. Lived 3 years with a teammate. All while vowing the NFL would bring everything back. Now with #Packers, he’s ready to fulfill his promise. packersnews.com/story/sports/n…
