Can’t say the Mariners aren’t cashing in on baseball’s best nickname

Pat Murphy on pulling The Miz after 64 pitches: "We can't give him that big of a rest and then let him go out there and make his normal start. You've got to build up to it a little bit. We thought 55-65 pitches and no more than 4 ups was a good way ti get him back into it."
Pat Murphy: “This loss feels the same as all the others. “That’s 41 of them now, and they feel exactly the same. “Awful.”
With the tying run on first Isaac Collins is called out on strikes, Andrew Vaughn bounces out and fans will need to buy their own burgers as the Brewers fall to the Mariners, 1-0. The 11-game winning streak has ended.
The Brewers have the potential go-ahead run at first base with one out in the ninth against Mariners closer Andrés Muñoz. Isaac Collins, Andrew Vaughn due up.
Milwaukee gets two on with one outs in the seventh, chasing Logan Gilbert in the process, but two straight groundouts foil the prospective rally.
The Big Dumper has struck. With two outs in the sixth, he dumps a two-out, solo HR into the RF stands off Nick Mears. Brewers trail, 1-0.
The leadoff single goes nowhere, and DL Hall will attempt to keep it a 0-0 game here in the fifth.
Logan Gilbert's no-hit bid ends when Jackson Chourio leads off the fifth with a single to LF. That extends Chourio's hitting streak to a career-best 16 games.
With DL Hall already getting loose in the fourth, Julio Rodriguez leads off the Seattle fourth with a shot right off The Miz's right gluteal that nets him a base hit. Miz stays in, no worse for wear, as the exit velo was only 82.7 mph.
The Mariners are making The Miz work so far. He strikes out three straight in the second after a leadoff double by Randy Arozarena and bounds off the mound with multiple fist pumps after getting Dominic Canzone swinging. Five Ks, 39 pitches.
Logan Gilbert strikes out the side in the top of the first. The Miz strikes out 2 of 3 and wins a 10-pitch battle with Big Dumper with an F8. Fourteen 100-mph-plus pitches among his 20 thrown.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy, when asked for his reaction to his team currently holding the best record in the major leagues at 60-40: "My reaction is July 21. You read into that whatever you’d like. "That’s my quote – July 21."
And some more Woody, who was both surprised and not surprised to learn the Brewers have the best record in baseball:
Brandon Woodruff was dealing with a leg cramp and “emptied the tank” with his 62 pitches:
