This will deliver a 40-year record development investment in the Indo-Pacific – helping to build economic and health resilience, support climate action and keep Australians safe.
Sussan Ley is pursuing a surprisingly savvy strategy to undermine Angus Taylor’s leadership posturing by allowing him to regularly ask questions in his portfolio in Question Time.

Been overwhelmed by all the love I’ve received here, on the streets, in supermarkets & wherever I’ve gone this past week. This was my acceptance speech & it was all about my gratitude to Australia but of course had cricket mentions & my take on what it means to be Australian

Australia joins the UK, France & Germany in calling on Israel to immediately allow rapid and unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza. We urge all parties to return to a ceasefire. Civilians and humanitarians must be protected. Hamas must release all hostages and aid must flow.
For over 50 days, Israel has fully blocked humanitarian aid to Gaza. This is completely unacceptable. Vital supplies are running out and Palestinians risk facing starvation. With France and Germany, we urge Israel to immediately restart the flow of aid. gov.uk/government/new…

We can’t risk a repeat of the past performance of the Liberals and Nationals. Their cuts left a vacuum for others to fill in our region, making our region less secure.
Peter Dutton is still refusing to rule out cuts to our development program – but he has said past performance is the best indicator of future practice.
In this year’s Budget, the Albanese Government is reprioritising Australia’s Official Development Assistance to address immediate gaps and vulnerabilities in our region.
