We end year 16 with a "5th Sunday Live from a Lab" session 29/12 11 AM IST. Get up close with science at the Quantum Materials Lab @TIFRScience where ultra-thin layers are grown atom-by-atom using Molecular Beam Epitaxy & sputtering. ONLINE ONLY! youtube.com/live/l1o2RGrb_… #scicomm
Now that we've found more than 5000 planets around other stars, it is clear that the family of planets orbiting "our" sun is not the most typical. There are "hot Jupiters", massive planets strangely enough often super close to their star, find out more @chaiandwhy!
Tomorrow Sun 15/12 11AM @RuparelCollege Bihan Banerjee @TIFRScience will tell us dramatic stories about the large fraction of exoplanets that orbit very close to their stars. How did they get there? Do they get fried in the star's heat? YT Live: youtube.com/live/glEXblf5t… #scicomm
