#ThrowbackThursday In 1987 Galway beat Kilkenny in the 100th All Ireland Hurling Championships. Also in that year, beautiful Sneem in Co. Kerry took the overall winner of the TidyTowns Competition! Sneem also won the TidyTowns Pollinator Award in 2024.

In 1969, Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, and Tyrrellspass in Co. Westmeath was the winner of the TidyTowns Competition! It was noted as, "a beautiful Georgian village situated in Co Westmeath in the heart of the midlands", and was a well deserved winner that year!



#ThrowbackThursday In 1966 Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan, won the National TidyTowns Award, and came back to win again in 1967! Ballyjamesduff's other claim to fame is "Come Back Paddy Reilly", written by Percy French, inspired by the emigration of Paddy Reilly from the town.
