With Domžale fighting relegation, goalkeeper Lovro Štubljar — on loan from Serie A side Empoli — has stepped up in a big way. Read about the Slovenian's return to Domžale, the relegation battle, his time in Italy, with exclusive quotes from Štubljar: thesoccergoal.com/2025/05/02/on-…
Late notice — no newsletter today as I’m wrapping up my time in Spain here. It will be back next week!
Nobody quite loves a (cheap) reunion with their former players like Real Betis. Gio Lo Celso, Marc Bartra, Junior Firpo, Héctor Bellerín, Álvaro Valles, and now Pau Lopez!

Don't know who needs to hear this but all these SEPTA cuts so close to the World Cup is disastrous. What should be a historic moment for Philly could end up being a real disaster if we don't actually support our public transportation.
😍 Stadiums at midnight featuring @RealOviedo

The @PhilaUnion have created something never done before in @MLS. Every part of the player pathway is now represented on one campus in Chester, from Academy prospects to first team stars. Today’s ribbon-cutting was more than the opening of a facility. It was a celebration of…
This dog has genuinely been watching me play for about five minutes.

Bayern Munich went from the best recruiting side in Europe to one of the worst. Since winning the sextuple, they have signed five players for €50M+: Kane, de Ligt, Olise, Palhinha, & Kim. Olise is the only real hit. Don't be surprised if they overpay for a winger soon, too.

Worst trend in this sport right now is letting people lift a trophy for no reason.

Sometimes, players make purely financial decisions. I genuinely don't believe that's the case with Victor Osimhen. Galatasaray fans love him and he clearly loves it in Türkiye. The combination of those fans + UCL + yes, the money helps and it's no wonder Osimhen wants to stay.

Feels like people can stop overreacting about this PSG team now. Were they absolutely incredible this season? Yes. Fun to watch? Yes. But they are neither the best team in history nor the most likable. Too many people were influenced solely by the Inter game on both factors.

Big fan of Plettenberg but this really highlights what's gone wrong with reporting. What does this add? The point of posts like these are not to give us information, but rather to show off what information they have.
Will be officially announced in 1-2 minutes.
Disappointed Bayern Munich made NO effort to try to get Malik Tillman back. The #USMNT international offers everything Bayern need: a creative, versatile, experienced attacker. They could have matched Leverkusen's €35M fee and convinced the former academy star to come home.

Great to see Bruno Damiani find the back of the net against RBNY. The Uruguayan now has 2 goals in his last 4 games in MLS — that's as many as he recorded in his first 19 for #DOOP. Confidence is SO important for strikers — hopefully these goals can help him make that step up.

Transfer rumors are so funny these days. This sounds like a drunk text to an ex. Just say he's the #1 target 😭
BREAKING: FC Porto wants Javi Guerra. They’ve always wanted him. They want him no matter what. [@rubenuria]
Keegan-Michael Key knows ball??? Never thought I'd see a world where this legend is talking about how much a Nacer Chadli goal meant to him...
Very legitimate shout to be the best-run club in the world. Very few teams manage to consistently sell their best players and remain competitive both in their league and in Europe. Atalanta do it in the Serie A, no less.
Atalanta's biggest sales each year: 2025: Retegui, 60m 2024: Koopmeiners, 59m 2023: Hojlund, 78m 2022: Romero, 52m 2021: Mancini, 24m 2020: Diallo, 21m 2019: Kulusevski, 39m 2018: Cristante, 30m 2017: Bastoni 31m
Hugo Ekitiké is a top player. But between inconsistent finishing & his lanky frame, a Premier League move doesn't seem like his best choice at this stage. He knows how damaging an early transfer can be after his PSG move — another year (or at least half) at #SGE would be smart.

Former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has been sentenced to a year in prison and a hefty fine after being found guilty of tax fraud. He had been accused of failing to pay over a million euros (US$1.1 million) in Spanish taxes related to image rights. forbes.com/sites/kellyphi…
Seeing a lot of @sidlowe in bookstores here in Oviedo!
