Reality is it was never about housing its why I been screaming for a decade
First, @SFMTA_Muni should build automated barrier gates to protect the riders on the platforms. Second, the future of public transit will not be in mass mode. It can’t guarantee the basic personal safety of passengers.

Why is SF Muni increasing SPENDING much, much faster than population growth? Maybe that's the problem that's causing ever increasing deficits? Um, duh?
If you’re going to create a scenario where people are no longer allowed to drive private vehicles the very least you could do is create a scenario where public vehicles are actually safe to ride.

Closing the Muni deficit starts with basics: suspend all new "traffic calming" projects, lay off planning staff, end taxpayer funding for lobbying orgs like the Bike Coalition, issue an RFP for autonomous shuttles on cut lines, and license all bikes in SF to fund infrastructure.
