After @AETshirts put up some footy book recommendations, I thought I'd add some of my own A Life Too Short by Ronald Reng is fantastic despite football being not so important in this story. The tragic story of Robert Enke's fight with depression is an important read for everyone.

Taking inspiration from @Bellissimoshirt, here are the football shirts that have been added to the collection so far this year. I've not got anything new lined up but I'm sure there will be a few more added by the end of the year.

Possibly my 4 favourites from today's MLS archive shirt release. Will have to get saving those pennies to add these to the collection.

Hamburg with two superb kits on their return to the Bundesliga. The home is probably my favourite of the two but only just.

So in one day Benfica sell Carreras and Kokcu. Superb work. At this rate we'll barely have a squad to start the season. To top it off Rui Costa thinks he's doing such a good job and announces his candidature to be re-elected as Benfica president in October. Just get in the bin.

How Roberto Martinez can watch these Joao Neves midfield performances and think '"yep, that's my right-back, right there" is beyond me.

Had to take advantage of the JD Sports discounts and get this 1993 Roma reissue.

I see DAZN are still insisting that Benfica lost the league cup final to Sporting despite actually winning it.

I don't have a lot of MLS shirts in my collection but if these Dallas Burn and San Jose Earthquake shirts are true, then my collection will be getting bigger.

Benfica don't often release long-sleeved shirts so when the new 25/26 home became available, I had to snap it up.

All it needs is a little patience. I thought I'd have to pay silly money for this so when it popped up on Vinted for £15, I snapped it up (and all the tags are legit) This is the Portugal 22/23 away shirt. One of the last from Nike and one of my favourites.

I don't know if anyone even remembers that I had a CFS discount code, but if you do, then just to let you know that it was updated yesterday. The new code for 10% off is 'PEDRO10'. Maybe you'll be able to put it good use with some of the new kits coming out.

Are DAZN not used to covering football matches? Apparently, Benfica lost all their domestic competitions this season...
