The Lakers Review
@TheLakersReview
tweets mainly about the Lakers. if you discuss anything else im out. if i dont follow back its because of that. no offense. please dont quote tweet nonsense.
“There’s also been, I would say little whispers, mutterings, murmurings, of ‘you know what, the Lakers are kind of vested in the idea of Maxi Kleber being a meaningful part of this rotation as a backup somewhere along the line’” - Rob Mahoney on the most recent episode of The…
I really think ppl are sleeping on Maxi he’s a playable player when healthy.
the focus of the summer has mostly been about ‘Bron’s future with the Lakers and then the acquisitions of free agents. what’s somewhat forgotten is Luka coming into this season in tip-top shape. dude was already devastating as is. imagine him being able to sustain his powers for…
RIP Hulk Hogan. that was prime childhood entertainment for me.
Mike Trudell during the Mason and Ireland show shared that he reached out to a couple of people in Washington and asked how close Smart was to the version he was in Boston once he got healthy and they answered with “it’s a little closer than you think.”
“ … join something special that’s he’s trying to cook up over here.” i think that Luka extension will be coming. eventually.
Marcus Smart talks about Luka Doncic’s efforts to recruit him to L.A. He said prior to this summer, they didn’t have a relationship beyond mutual respect as competitors: “It was always flowers”
MacMahon on The Hoop Collective podcast suggested that Smart was “professionally heartbroken” after being traded from Boston to Memphis. That Smart didn’t want to be with the Grizzlies at all. Which may have attributed to the decline in Smart’s game the past two seasons.
ima put this out today so sometime down the road i can refer back to it: Luka and Jokic want to play together before it’s all said and done.
watching large Luka was fun enough. lean Luka will be on another level.
“If he’s recruiting this aggressively for the bi-annual exception and a slice of the mid-level, what’s he going to do when they have max cap space?” - Tim MacMahon on Luka Dončić during The Hoop Collective podcast
deleted that trade suggested by Vecenie. missed a point of note that this was suggested prior to the Lakers waiving Goodwin.
start Koloko. bench Manon. cut Jemison. lol.
And there are the Lakers two-way spots that I was talking about. They now will have Koloko, Manon, and Jemison occupying their two-way roster spots
i like Koloko. there’s potential there. as for Manon, look below.
Don't know much about Chris Manon but a quick glance at his college stats show same pattern as most recent Lakers signings LaRavia, Smart, Thiero...very high, even elite STL% rate 👀
dang. Pete is at a 100 one second in. lol.
New pod: Lakers Get Smart Lakers will reportedly sign Marcus Smart after he was bought out. The guys express their excitement, how Smart fits on the team, what it opens up for the Lakers defensively, if the Lakers have another move in them & MORE. 🎧: linktr.ee/LFRPOD
In Stein’s most recent newsletter, he reported about Smart focusing in on his body and conditioning over the summer and the Lakers are expecting “a sleeker version of the 2021-2022 DPOY”. Even ’24 Marcus Smart would be an upgrade - albeit slight - over ’25 DFS using DARKO via…
im thinking the impact of LaRavia and Smart during the season will determine how much more successful the summer was for Rob. signing Ayton was huge already.
“I'm told that the recent Dončić pitch, … particularly resonated with Smart and helped lead the former Defensive Player of the Year to choose the Lakers over a determined push by the Suns to land the former Celtic.” open.substack.com/pub/marcstein/…
well, now JJ has six guys to play in the playoffs. lol. ‘Bron, Luka, AR, Rui, Ayton, and Smart.
Nike should have an option where any shoe they have can be made into golf versions. Hello, @Nike.
