Remembering Lupita Tovar, #botd in 1910. Tovar is perhaps best known for her role in the 1931 Spanish-language version of Dracula. She was also the mother of Susan Kohner, who was in Imitation of Life and All the Fine Young Cannibals. Tovar died in 2016 at the age of 106.


Gale Sondergaard. She won the very first Best Supporting Actress Oscar for "Anthony Adverse" (1936) and received a second nomination for "Anna and the King of Siam" (1946).

Remembering Vivian Vance, born Vivian Roberta Jones in Cherryvale, Kansas, on today's date in 1909. She won an Emmy in 1954 for her role as Ethel Mertz on I Love Lucy.


Remembering Grace Ethel Cecile Rosalie Allen -- better known as Gracie Allen -- #botd in 1895. She began her career in vaudevillle, where she met her future husband, George Burns, in 1922. The two formed a comedy act and were married from 1926 until Allen's death in 1964.
