Bumped into Tom this morning, sets off on 2,600 mile bike ride on Saturday, his mum driving the support vehicle. That’s quite a long way in 33 days, but wish him well. He’s looks better in shorts too

I think “Settling the Score” is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard on the radio, the most perfect blend of sport, music and words. Charles Dance’ voice is perfect and of course the TMS commentary of 2005, CMJ et al. It’s beautiful

So now it’s 7,000 steps, better than 10,000 steps, and a million other “tips”too. If you’re lucky enough to do so, get out, move, and it doesn’t need to be measured etc. Just get out and move, and keep moving. And have fun

The planning, timing, detail that goes into planning pre-season is beyond impressive, and the invisible hours, from operations, player support, coaches, chefs, analysts, medical, performance, kit managers,sports science, data analysts, media, and yes, players are impressive too

Been lucky to attend so many sporting events around the world, but the one that still stands out, was an All Ireland Hurling Final. Stadium split 50/50, the colour, the noise, the rivalry and all for your county, and they don’t get paid. As for the skill
