All things movies, music, Nordic oddities.
People often mention the brutal ending of Eden Lake, but what kind of censored version did you watch? It is so violent for a full hour before that, so the ending feels like a relief. Also, they definitely didn’t get away with it. Surely, they were all arrested the following day.
Nordic countries (add Estonia) are like the Bundys in Married With Children. We are allowed to pick on each other, but there’s hell to pay if an outsider does it to any of us. We’ll protect each other to the end.
RIP, a true legend. The first video of Ozzy I remember seeing on TV: The Ultimate Sin. youtu.be/O_ypaOIVmaA?si…
Extremely rare 'White Auroras' spotted over Finland last night.
I consider Vietnam to be more free than USA. Think about that for a second.
”Epstein only served 13 months…” it’s not a lie, but…
America deserves the truth about Jeffrey Epstein and the rich powerful elites in his circle. The line is drawn with anyone who abuses children and vulnerable innocent people. When George Santos is going to prison for 7 years but Epstein only served 13 months, our justice system…
Nolan won 3 Oscars earlier this year… and nobody cares. The best director of 2000’s, Kore-eda Hirokazu is not talked about.
People like this exist. Damn.

Twice? I have seen some movies close to a hundred times.
It’s rare to find a movie worth watching twice. So we asked The Atlantic’s writers and editors: What’s a film you can watch over and over again? theatlantic.com/newsletters/ar…
I agree with this. I have not seen such mind-blowing film since the early 90’s.

Variety just dropped major Squid Game spoilers in their headline. They are the absolute worst. It’s only been out for 7hrs. The fastest people JUST finished it an hour ago. Fuck Variety.
Jaws is everywhere these days. Deservedly so. It’s one of the greatest movies and it just turned 50. But we always call Raiders of the Lost Ark the greatest adventure movie ever. Is it? Jaws is definitely in that genre. It’s not horror. I’ll just leave this at: Spielberg rules.

I will never understand people who hate The Lost World. It delivers all the thrills. Look what happened for Jurassic series after that. Compared to those… Part 2 is a masterpiece.

IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT director Jafar Panahi returns to Iran after winning the Palme d’Or at #Cannes2025 to cheers and chants of “Woman, Life, Freedom” at the airport.
This weekend in Finland 2/3 of cinema-goers bought a ticket to Hollywood movies. MI8 and Lilo. Film industry of USA may not be dead. To add: most of the movies we watch are subtitled. The opposite of USA. If you tariff… it’s up to you.
