Moutet's underarm serve has more deception than most because he does a very short backswing and conceals his intention until he's basically it the ball. Additionally, he is way more accurate than most. His is like a dropper with sidespin. So good. Uses it intelligently.
"This feels more like a night club than a tennis club....and certainly not a country club" says @_markpetchey on @TennisChannel of the Friday night crowd at the @mubadalacitidc in Washington, D.C. watching Ben Shelton vs. Frances Tiafoe

I don't think I've ever seen anyone use underarm serves with the tactical effectiveness and frequency that Corentin Moutet has done today against the deep-returning Medvedev. (Play now suspended due to lightning and thunder nearby.)

Wow... just too many easy and early mistakes from Maria Sakkari against Emma Raducanu, who didn't have to do much on her own from 2-5 down in the second set
“It has been scientifically proven that you will lost 100% of the points if you don’t get the return of serve in” quips Robbie Koenig (with tongue in cheek) on @TennisChannel during the Sakkari vs. Raducanu match. “Was that out of Oxford?” jokes Andrea Petkovic in a retort
Too bad for Venus Williams... She just didn't have it tonight, but still an amazing and inspiring week for her in Washington, D.C. Cincinnati is next and then.... the U.S. Open???
