Well, I managed to get most of the garden picked, fleshed and salted a whitetail deer hide, and now I'm going to try to plant a few collard greens in starter trays. Always something to do on the homestead!

Zucchini chow chow we made a few days ago. Thought it would be worth posting again now that someone will see it. Sure looks pretty in the jar. It's pretty easy but is time-consuming. Hit the heart ❤️ if yall would like for us to make a video in a few days of us making more!

This pic is several years old, but it still applies. All 4 of my boys (grown now) could plant a garden and survive by age 10. Ya see, if you want to keep your knowledge around even after you are dead and gone, you have to pass that knowledge down while they are young! Pass it on!

My oldest sons bluetick coon hound pup (Hobo) decided it was time to cool off in the grand babies swimming pool. I agree with him on the time to cool off part!

Took this pic this evening of our zucchini ( 2nd pic is from a few days ago). Variety is Black Beauty. Very high yielding plants. They have held up to the heat very well. We will be saving seed and growing them again next year!

I bet she eats 5 or 6 cucumbers a day. She will even sneak one off the vine now and then if she don't think we are looking.

When I was in high-school, in the summer, the majority of my friends and myself cut, bailed, and hauled hay, helped harvest crops, work cows at the sell barn from daylight Saturday morning till 2-3:00am Sunday morning. Don't tell me we can't make it without illegals. We did it!
