Teaching Medieval Women
@TeachMedWomen
TMW is a collaborative project between teachers and academics looking to encourage and support the teaching of medieval women in school History lessons.
In our latest animated short for KS3 History students, @NRHodgson_Hist and @monarchyconf explain 'Corporate Monarchy' (how monarchs relied on those closest to them to help them rule), using the examples of Töregene Khatun and Eleni of Ethiopia. youtube.com/watch?v=MrjKMf…
It’s been an intense 24 hours at #imc2025 — only time I’ve gone the one day route. Lovely to see the folks @archumanities & Laura @routledgehist + enjoyed the craft fair, sessions from Noblewomen Network & Educating Elite Women, chatting @teachmedwomen at the evening roundtable
It’s been a busy, queen-filled week so far! Started with talking about female succession @TeachMedWomen CPD event in Nottingham, then 2 days in Paris discussing the patronage of royal women & celebrating the career of Kathleen Wilson-Chevalier + the Worth exhibition to finish!
Have had a brilliant day at @TeachMedWomen #cpd event. Have come away with new ideas, new knowledge and a burning desire to replan my medieval curriculum Check out their amazing website and resources teachingmedievalwomen.org #historyteacher #cpd
