7th generation Iowan | Democrat running to take back Iowa's 1st Congressional District
They say you need a good elevator pitch to run for office. Well, here's mine. My name is Taylor Wettach, and I'm a 7th-generation Iowan. I quit my job as a lawyer after my law firm caved to Trump. Now, I'm running for Congress to flip Iowa's 1st and take back the House.
You don’t beat Trumpism by hoping it goes away. You beat it by running straight at it—with courage, with values, and with everything on the line. That’s what I’m doing. Let’s flip Iowa’s First together.
Iowans deserve leaders who don’t bow to party bosses or cave to Trump. I quit my job when my firm did just that. Now I’m stepping up to fight for our rights, our future, and a better House.
The Trump Administration bullied my former law firm, which then cut a deal to do his legal work for free. Here’s the story of my decision to quit, and to run for Congress to fight for my community.
Mariannette Miller-Meeks voted to slash Medicaid, SNAP, and your Social Security. She won by just 0.2%. I’m Taylor Wettach. I’m running to defeat her and take back Iowa’s 1st. Every dollar counts. Chip in now and let’s flip this seat: secure.actblue.com/donate/social-…
Had a great time at my hometown Muscatine County Fair! I’m running for an Iowa that works for everyone. Let’s defeat Miller-Meeks and take back our district, together.
I’m a 7th-generation Iowan. I grew up in Muscatine. My parents taught me to serve others, speak truth, and never back down from a fight. Now I’m bringing those values to Congress.
Today’s my 35th birthday, and I just want to thank you all for your belief, support, and generosity! Looking forward to continuing to work with you to fight for our district.
The Republican Budget bill is a bad bill for Iowans. 66,000 folks in our district will lose their healthcare, and many more will pay higher premiums. We deserve better. Unfortunately, Mariannette Miller-Meeks does not agree.
Washington plays games with Social Security and Medicare. I won’t. I’ll fight to protect the benefits our seniors earned. No cuts, no gimmicks, no exceptions.
We are back on the road this weekend at the Des Moines County Fair and the Warren County Fair. Looking forward to seeing you there!

I grew up in Muscatine, watching my dad care for patients as a small-town doctor. Today, rural hospitals are closing and Washington is silent. I’m running for Congress to fight for healthcare in every corner of Iowa.
Our fair week continued at the Clinton County Fair! Thank you to the @ClintonCoDems for inviting us to come serve beer 🍻
This race was decided by fewer than 1,000 votes in 2024. In 2026, we flip Iowa’s 1st and take back the House. I’m Taylor Wettach. Are you coming with us? secure.actblue.com/donate/social-…
When I responded to the call to defend our country, this government job was threatened by DOGE. When my law firm caved to Trump, I resigned. But I'm not done fighting for our communities, and I know you aren't either. Now is our time. Are you coming with us?
Everyone says you need a good elevator pitch. Here's mine: I'm Taylor Wettach, born and raised in Muscatine. I quit my job after my law firm caved to Trump. Now I’m running for Congress to flip Iowa’s 1st—and take back the House.
Right now, we have a crisis of empathy in our nation. It's time for new leadership that puts Iowans first.

Overnight, Mariannette Miller-Meeks voted to cut $9b in public broadcast funding. As Iowa goes through tornado season, this vote threatens crucial weather warning systems, especially for our rural counties. She is putting Iowans at risk again in order to do Trump's bidding.
Mariannette Miller-Meeks will soon vote to again put Iowa families at risk. Clawing back $9b in public broadcast funding means degrading crucial weather warning systems in our rural counties... during tornado season, no less.
Abortion rights are under attack in Iowa. I’ll fight to restore them and codify Roe v. Wade—because every Iowan deserves the freedom to make their own decisions about their body and their future.
Great time serving beer today at the Clinton County Fair with fellow candidates @PetermanForIowa , @KrauseForIowa , and George Pickup.
