Wirtz is my favourite brand of midfielder. Low centre of gravity but physical. Always optimistic, very little caution or fear of losing the ball. He is always trying to do something worthwhile. Modric was a bit like that. Kaka was another one. Rooney in his earlier days.

What do Hugo Ekitike, Ozan Kabak and Sheyi Ojo have in common?
Football really does feel so unimportant sometimes. Jesus I am so sorry for Diogo’s family. He won’t be forgotten.
Sky Sports also listed Giorgi Marmardashvili as a Liverpool signing in 2024, which is interesting.
Liverpool's spending this summer is over £200m after signing Milos Kerkez 💰
I’ll be honest I think I watched a record number of Man United games last season . Europe, league, cups, everything.
Man Utd matches bucked trend in falling TV viewing figures — but were rival fans tuning in to watch them lose?! thetimes.com/article/200e83…
It is a bit mental seeing Liverpool not only enter a super expensive deal for one of the worlds biggest talents but then actually getting it done. Has it happened in the modern age? Maybe Torres?
Can you imagine the reaction to this deal if it came out of the blue. The 24/7 coverage of transfers has taken something from us
Liverpool have agreed a deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz that could set a new British transfer record of £116 million. The fee is split between a £100 million guaranteed payment and then bonuses of up to £16 million. More @TimesSport
I'm sure there was a time I was calling him 'Arnold' too.
🤍👋🏻 Trent Alexander-Arnold has arrived at Real Madrid! 🎥 @JosePadi_ @defcentral
He was on 750-day Duolingo streak when I posted this
I can’t rule out a Gerrard like U turn from Trent. I just can’t.
Thing with Postecoglu is that if he did hold onto his job it would have been purely because of the Europa League win. They were horrible last season, I didn’t see any real indicator the players could do what the manager wanted, and I think I agree with the decision to let him go.
A visual equally as impressive as it is useless
A closer look at Toni Kroos’ 20,672 completed passes in La Liga during his time at Real Madrid 🎯
Mbuemo and Cunha are both really good players. But Antony, Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Di Maria, Mkhitaryan, Depay, van de Beek and Sancho were also really good players. The task at Man United isn’t to sign good players. It’s to find out why good players go there and get worse.
