Summer associates from the Atlanta office of @JonesDay, led by former Chief Justice David Nahmias, visited our Court last week to observe oral arguments. They also met with Justice Andrew Pinson who spoke about how our Court operates and the work of a state supreme court justice.

The Supreme Court of Georgia will be closed on Friday, July 4, for Independence Day. The Court will reopen on Monday, July 7, at 8:30 a.m. Eastern.

Youth participants in the @BGCMA_Clubs Law Camp visited our Court last week for a tour and mock oral argument, organized by @KTS_Law. Campers also met with Chief Justice Nels Peterson, Presiding Justice Sarah Hawkins Warren, and Justice Charlie Bethel.

Law school student summer interns with The Gate City Bar toured our Court this afternoon and participated in a mock oral argument. They also met with Justice Verda Colvin to learn more about the role of an appellate court in the state’s judiciary.

Justice Charlie Bethel presented attorney, Ashley Stinson, and DFCS case manager, Quandula Wright, with the 2025 Hines Awards for Outstanding Advocacy for Children in Dependency Proceedings during a recent meeting of the @SupremeCourtGA Committee on Justice for Children.
