馃尡MILESTONE THREAD馃尦 2020, locked up with the idea to weave together art, native culture & natural heritage for a while, I tried hands on my first, one-of-its-kind 'Wildlife Map of Odisha' seeking deeply from Pattachitra folk art, narrating profound interrelations. (1/15)

...maybe, the tiger is a farmer, tilling a large earthen antelope through his teeth & claws. He would harvest from her, the greens she ate from plants; plants that soaked age-old songs of the soil & rivers. He would harvest from her, a life, a death & pieces of the eternal sun.

A folk representation of the rare 'Black Tigers', the small and isolated population of which inhabit the Similipal聽Tiger Reserve, Odisha. I believe聽that when local art and everyday sciences come together, folk art is born. #blacktiger #folkindica #studiokyaari #art #odisha

Elephants are rivers with memories and wisdom of centuries, their sizes, a mere metaphor for the heart of a living earth. Light as birds in search of clouds, heavy as rain seeking soil beds, elephants are rivers in search of rivers.馃尦馃悩 #folkindica #elephants #india
