Hmmm. Really enjoyed Volume 1 of Alita. Thought I’d love the Motorball arc even more. Kinda fell flat for me. The art is amazing and I’ll continue on and read the whole series…but the writing is messy. I needed to turn my brain off way more than I prefer in a story.

I’ve been extremely busy: working my engineering job, making a manga, writing a new book, doing too many conventions, building a marriage, but this week I got my first Muay Thai promotion! It’s been a huge source of joy for me recently, and I’m really happy with the progression!
The pattern is: people not reading the comic complain about the designs. Then it’s so well done it’s loved just a few issues later. Happened with Batman. Happened with Bane. Happening with Croc. Now Roman-Mask-Catwoman.

The Absolute Universe is not a bold new storytelling idea. At all. It’s just insanely high quality storytelling. Can’t wait for a DWJ Batman one-shot in this universe. Villain one-shot will be cool as well.
