Yes, the couple that has been together a year, if that, are entirely responsible for the success of a 65 year old TV show. People outside of the UK had never heard of Coronation Street before Sw*rla. Ken Barlow who? It's all about Swain. And it always has been.
Swarla is the reason why your soap is even being watched and discussed on 7 continents. ITV knows this and takes full advantage of the gay following. Blame them, not the fans.

It feels like over the past few months, the Swarla fandom has gone from being a cute and endearing part of the Corrie fandom to an incredibly parasocial and hostile group who despise and resent everything about Corrie that isn't related to the pair.
Haven’t watched Corrie yet because I’ve had a busy day. But I’m hearing our girls are not in Friday either (I know Carla was in today’s)? Corrie need to do better. Currently having them in 1 episode a week for only a handful of minutes is not it. 🙃🤦🏻♀️

Genuinely words can not describe the state the Coronation Street is currently. It's not just bad, it just isn't the same show it was 50, 20, 10, or even 2 years ago. I've watched the past few weeks on 2x speed just to get it over quicker, and I still feel like I'm wasting my time
