Should've taken more to assure you that this #AdoorableThursday door at Shrivenham, ##Oxfordshire, is a very squat door, the moulding seemingly rather ambitiously large and grandiose for its dimensions. On the porch, but not the way in...

For #Woodensday this side altar on Shrivenham, #Oxfordshire, was installed c. 1927 by Eva, Ada and Blanche Milligan, the loving nieces of Justina Milligan who lived at Rectory Manor, and, in their words, was a benefactress of the village.

For #TilesOnTuesday this is St Matthew, #Cheltenham, #Gloucestershire, the east end by the architect Ewan Christian with this reredoa actually strictly a #MosaicMonday of stone panels, c. 1879, but looking like tiles.

This is both appalling and ridiculous!
So, someone suggested using ChatGPT to help track down the artist of an ex libris bookplate... a cautionary tale...!
RTing for #OwlishMonday - gorgeous!
Latest stained glass panel hand painted with an owl, decorative moon and Cassiopeia, The Owl Cluster constellation engraved on to flashed blue glass. 🦉✨ #stainedglassart #owls #moon #artforthehome #constellation #owlcluster #suncatcher #handpainted
William Horn and Benjamin Kent, 1730s chuchwardens of Shrivenham, #Oxfordshire (oops, got it wrong yesterday!) make their presence known right by the door these days #MementoMoriMonday also, C Farr - another chuchwarden sneaked on? Or the maker?

No photos for the #HarebellChallenge - I've seen them, but so far only from the car while stuck behind leisurely browsing cows of Rodborough Common, #Stroud, do here's another freshly out plant, water mint, on the canal the same afternoon #wildflowerhour

This #Victorian #AnytimeAngel looks as knackered as I feel! She's in Shrivenham, #Wiltshire and her job is to hold up this older memorial - a weighty column and urn - and she's clearly feeling it! #SundayStonework

For #SteepleSaturday, let's go to Erlach, #Switzerland, the only medieval part of the church - the rest built in 1688, as proclaimed on nearly everything in the church! Taken at dusk *before* we accidently turned on the outside lights and couldn't turn them off 😬

For #FontsOnFriday it's back to St Omer cathedral, #France, for some cool, elegant marble with a nice Nativity in the background - can you spot the bonus font-like image in there?

Wot an accolade! Especially for a door that's only, say, 20cm high!
Think I've found the #dooroftheday 😍 The door furniture 👌 #NoContextDoors #DailyDoor #adoorablethursday #doors
A teeny-tiny door for #AdoorableThursday - on an altar in Troyes cathedral, #France, complete with intricate door furniture, an Agnus Dei and ballflower!

For St Swithun's day, because of course he deserves a party, even if it is raining... #StSwithinsDay #40DaysOfRain?
For #StainedGlassSunday here's St Swithun's birthday party, with his name onna banner and all. From Bathford Church today.
Lovely what I assume to be #medieval #TilesOnTuesday from Troyes cathedral, #France - it's strange not having the detailed info that one can usually get on British churches! Ah well, c'est la vie!

A rather shy owl greeted us in Malmesbury, #Wiltshire the other week, but I'm sure they won't mind saying hello for #OwlishMonday...

Stunning early C17th #stainedglass from Troyes cathedral, #France, apparently by Linard Gonthier, a glass painter in the city, in the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament #StainedGlassSunday

All set up for tonight's #booklaunch at @caperoxford with Alistair McNaught's new novel The City by the Sea - a vision of a place not here, but strangely familiar- and dark! Come and join us! Opens at 5.30pm for a couple of hours...
Lovely almost pure white hollyhock spotted on a flit to the Co op in the heat #summerflowers #heatwave
