I found a good DX spot at Dead Horse Point State Park in Utahโฆ lots of meteor scatter pings on the TEF6686, and the band is almost free of any strong local signals.

This is definitely the shortest hop of e-skip I've ever seen on FM. It's 100.5 WSJD Princeton, Indiana @ 369 miles. It beats my previous short-hop by 8 miles. That indicates the MUF was really high yesterday at the time of reception.
Today was a barn burner of an FM e-skip event! I finally finished counting, and 344 stations were received here by e-skip from live DXing. I still have to review my recordings, but thatโll take forever. The distances ranged from 447 to 1287 miles.

I just got back from a couple National Parks in Utah, and my brother took these amazing photos while we were stargazing out there.

I just had to make a stop here to check this out in Albuquerque.

Iโm driving across the country and had to make a stop at WAJK because AJK are my initials ๐

Decent FM skip opening to the Gulf Coast this morning and a lesser opening to the northeast last night

My local 94.9 WQMX looks absolutely terrible on the SDR this morning. I wonder whatโs going on. @949WQMX

My boys got me this shirt for Fatherโs Day

I noticed this rather intense tropo scatter this afternoon. The fluctuating signals were strong and appeared like e-skip. Nothing super-far, just around 100 miles. I wonder what would've caused this. It only lasted about a minute.
DTV e-skip captured on channel 2 in the past 24 hours

92.1 WYAS Luquillo, Puerto Rico just received here in Ohio at 1,830 miles... that's double hop skip!
My vintage GE P-990Aโฆ listening to WRMI 5050 kHz this evening. This radio was manufactured in the mid 60โs.
First decent e-skip opening into FM from around 11 am this morning

Analog TV E-skip now on channel 3 from Cuba ๐จ๐บ. Thatโs 1300 miles from my location in Ohio!
Meteor scatter... 106.7 WXXL Orlando Florida at 871 miles in Ohio (PI code 13C5)
107.1 XHCLO Monclova, Coahuila, Mexico ๐ฒ๐ฝ just received here in Akron, Ohio about an hour ago. Thatโs 1492 miles and is really pushing the distance for single hop e-skip.
Classic meteor burst on FM, 101 to 108 MHz spectrum on the SDR. This is 103.9 KNZA at 743 miles.
