What's happened to the Facebook algorithm? Out of nowhere my posts are being viewed by thousands! Average likes for a post are anywhere between 20 and 50. Last post is up to 1000 and climbing, other posts are creeping up too. And plenty of comments too...feels strange!
Delighted to have an article in the latest edition of @Archaeology_Irl which is out now. "In Search of St. Molua's Bell" looks at St. Molua, and a lost bell associated with him. I tracked down the only known photo of the bell, which is published for the first time in this vol.

New issue...coming soon. To get it in your letterbox (and inbox): archaeologyireland.ie
Does anyone know the access situation at Kilcooley Abbey at the moment?
Luke Skywalker gives me disapproving looks when I procrastinate. When it gets a little warmer, he'll lose the robe for the summer... @MarkHamill

I'm looking for a book: Celtic Cosmology: Perspectives from Ireland and Scotland. Can't find a library copy anywhere, and only available for a hefty price online. I only need one chapter from it if there's anyone who happens to have it and can help me out...
3 Nov: St Cóemán/Mochóemóg of Enach Truim/#Anatrim, Co. #Laois. "whom I love" MartG. MartG also describes him as a brother of St Kevin of Glendalough. Is he the same saint as St Caomhán of Inisheer (same feast day etc)? 📷© & link: @StandingStoneIE thestandingstone.ie/2010/03/anatri…
Irish archaeology twitter people! This little window is located in the south wall of the chancel/choir in St. Patrick's Cathedral in Cashel. Any idea what it was used for? It's angled towards the east wall and is quite high up.

Hotel development proposed WITHIN early medieval royal site @ Rock of Cashel. To object phone Tipperary CoCo (+353(0)818 06 5000) by 4:30 tomorrow, pay €20 fee, then email (include planning ref 2260575 & your receipt no.) your objection to [email protected] before Monday
An application has been lodged to build a hotel on the southern slope of The Rock of Cashel. That would ruin the aesthetic of this national monument and scupper any chance of attaining UNESCO World Heritage Site. Closing date for objection is 28/11/22.
Twittersphere: proposal for development on southern slopes of Rock of Cashel, 28 bed hotel, planning ref: 2260575. Please object. Hugely problematic archaeo assessment mis-represents my own work here showing that development is on archaeological complex. Deadline next Monday 28th
It doesn't happen often, but occasionally after a tour I have someone come to grill me about my accent. I know it's only curiosity, but I don't like it.
I now have 8 followers on TikTok. Yes, that's right, I'm clearly a viral sensation...in my own head.
I love census night. I get a great buzz from seeing the census forms of my ancestors in 1901 and 1911. To think that we are writing things that our relatives will see in a century fills me joy. It will be a great historical resource... Use your time capsule well...
As Facebook is slowly killing our page we are expanding and trying something new on Tik Tok...
