A crime is a crime—no matter the victim’s sect, no matter the perpetrator. This was the principle of the Syrian revolution: to stand against injustice, whoever commits it. Today, in Syria, everyone is or has been a victim. The bloodshed must end. I don’t know how or when.

This will be stopped. It harms and undermines American companies that stand to benefit from Syria’s reconstruction. I’m quite certain the U.S. would prefer Syria to align with the Western camp rather than the Eastern one.
