This indeed seems to be something that bothers many people. I have also been told that I am a #BadRoleModel for aspiring #WomenProfessors for exactly the same reasons (in a #JobInterview!).
Newsweek published an op-ed written by the 1950’s patriarchy. And conservative men wonder why women won’t date them.
Do not forget to apply for the @GordonConf on Multiscale #Mechanochemistry and #Mechanobiology by June 23! We are very much looking forward to welcome a diverse crowd interested in the research that happens at this exciting interface. Don’t miss out!
Still undecided about attending @GordonConf on Multiscale #Mechanochemistry and #Mechanobiology? The full program is now online: grc.org/multiscale-mec… It is packed with excellent invited and contributed talks, covering a wide range of really cool topics. Apply before June 23!
The @GordonConf Multiscale #Mechanochemistry and #Mechanobiology is now approaching fast! Have a look at our diverse and international program with so many great speakers who will present these topics from various perspectives. grc.org/multiscale-mec… We hope to see many of you!

Thanks, Laura and Russell for making this happen. It was a pleasure to support you with these @LNF_Austria projects!
Laura and Russell had a lot of fun at @LNF_Austria @jkulinz, playing with #AFM models, discussing #enzymes for #plastics degradation and the #stiffness of #tissues. And, of course, we made #alginate #hydrogels with a large and very interested crowd of #future #scientists.
Introducing Niels Holten-Andersen @HoltenNiels as our last invited speaker at @GordonConf Multiscale #Mechanochemistry and #Mechanobiology. Excited to learn about #biomimetic organic-inorganic interfaces for tuning the #mechanical properties of #materials.
@GordonConf Multiscale #Mechanochemistry and #Mechanobiology Anne-Lise Routier-Kierzkowska @RoutierLab will present more exciting #plant mechanobiology. Curious to find out about how multiscale forces control plant tissues? Join us for her talk! Application is still possible.
Very happy to see two talks about plants @GordonConf Multiscale #Mechanochemistry and #Mechanobiology. There is so much cool mechanobiology in plants…

Fibroblasts are key players when it comes to mechanical processes in health and disease. Join us for the talk of @GuyGenin @CEMB_STC where he will give insights into the crucial role of #fibroblast activation @GordonConf on Multiscale #Mechanochemistry and #Mechanobiology
Plant seed pods are a fascinating material with built in actuation. Looking forward to lean more about how organisms that cannot move utilise forces to ensure their survival.
Did you ever think about the structures that make #plant seed pods explode to facilitate seed dispersal? Angela Hay from Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research @mpipz_cologne will share her fascinating research @GordonConf Multiscale #Mechanochemisty & #Mechanobiology
Join our team @JKULinz. We are looking for a #PostDoc in #SoftMatter to explore how molecular parameters shape material properties and to develop fluorescent reporter systems for visualizing network responses. Details here karriere.jku.at/engage/jobexch… and jku.at/en/institute-o…

The excitement of Laura and Russell is growing as they are preparing for @LNF_Austria. Visit us next week to find out more about the upsides and downsides of #polymer #materials.
We are super excited to contribute with two experiments @LNF_Austria @jkulinz. Visit us at the Physics Hub If you want to find out what #BubbleTea has in common with #TissueRegeneration langenachtderforschung.at/station/4089 or how #enzymes degrade #plastics langenachtderforschung.at/station/4112
