We are supposed to be better than this. 😭

This morning, I was honored to join Congressman Ro Khanna, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, and Senator Edward J. Markey, as well as state legislators from around the country at a press conference for the reintroduction of the State-Based Universal Health Care Act.
On the MARC train headed to DC to join press conference for reintroduction of @RepRoKhanna and @SenMarkey’s State Based Universal Health Care Act. Presser will be live-streamed on Sen Markey’s socials. At only $8 to DC from Halethorpe, MARC is one of the best deals around.

Please join me for breakfast Wednesday morning to help launch my campaign for reelection, so that I can continue my work for clean air and water, health care for all, better transit, protecting wildlife, and supporting our local communities. Tickets: go.sheilaruth.com/splash25

Don't worry if you're going to lose your healthcare under the Trump Big Ugly Bill: Agriculture Secretary Rollins says you can get healthcare by working in the fields to replace all the immigrants that they're deporting. At least for now until the robots take those jobs. 🤬
My heart breaks for the families who lost loved ones in the flooding in Texas, especially parents who suffered the unimaginable loss of a child. I send my deepest condolences and prayers, for the comfort of the bereaved families and that those still missing may be found alive.
Please stay tuned for more information.

Happy Pollinator Week! Pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds are essential to the ecosystem and needed to grow most of the food we eat. I worked with @MDSHA on legislation protecting pollinator habitats; see what they've achieved so far! roads.maryland.gov/mdotsha/pages/…

Juneteenth is a day of celebration, but also a day to recognize that the work of eliminating racial disparities is not yet done. This year is especially difficult as our own federal government is working to dismantle progress. Today and always I commit to working for true equity.

I enjoyed celebrating environmental wins and partial wins with Sierra Club. Thank you Sierra Club staff and volunteers for your advocacy!
🌟Thank you to everyone who joined us earlier this week for our legislative appreciation party! Legislators and volunteers from all across Maryland gathered to celebrate our environmental wins and progress in Annapolis this year. We had a wonderful time getting to know everyone!
I joined 87 of my colleagues in a letter to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to urge them to correct failures by PJM, the regional grid operator, which would lead to increased rates and unnecessary payments to electric companies. Read here: canva.com/design/DAGoA4w…

My heart breaks for the horrible murder of Yaron Lischinsky & Sarah Milgrim last night in DC. They were from all reports amazing, caring young people and their loss is a loss for the world. Hate, antisemitism, and violence are never acceptable. Condolences to all who knew them.
Four House Republicans just voted against Trump’s budget bill because it doesn’t cut enough from Medicaid. Let that sink in. Republicans are already cutting Medicaid healthcare and SNAP food assistance to give tax cuts to the rich. But some R’s think it doesn’t go far enough. 😡
This is so juvenile. I can't believe this is posted by the official White House account. Apparently our country is being run by a bunch of middle schoolers. (This is a screenshot, I'm not going to give them any air by sharing the post.)

I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.
