Met with constituents from Daktronics to discuss the importance of keeping U.S. manufacturing jobs in the United States.

Good to visit with the Penfield family of Lemmon. Their son Will is just wrapping up his time serving as a legislative page in the Senate. Grateful for all of his work over the past few months!

Welcomed members from the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives to the office today, including Brenda from Pierre and Hal from Aberdeen. We discussed the Farm Bill and important tax issues for co-ops.

Good to see members from the Douglas, Meade, Lennox and Brandon Valley school districts to discuss special education and mental health programs in our schools.

Had the opportunity to meet with SD FFA State Officers. It’s inspiring to see young leaders so passionate about the future of our ag industry.

Met with members from the SD Soybean Association during their trip to DC. We discussed the impact of trade agreements, the need for a strong biodiesel industry & an updated Farm Bill!

Met with South Dakota members from the Physical Therapy Association and discussed key issues impacting their profession and patients, including Medicare Payment Reform.

Great to see Griffin, a previous intern in our office, and a student representative for the South Dakota Board of Regents. We are proud of our work alongside them in getting MadLabs accredited for Dakota State University students.

Good meeting with the Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Association to discuss issues facing tribes in South Dakota, including the ongoing public safety crisis and our efforts to bring a tribal law enforcement training center to the Great Plains.

Met with leaders from South Dakota’s United Way organizations in Pierre, Rapid City and Yankton. Appreciated our conversation about funding for early childhood education and AmeriCorps.
