July 26 marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, a historic civil rights law that broke down barriers and opened doors for millions. The ADA has made communities more inclusive, accessible, and equitable. Let’s recommit to advancing disability rights.

The 2026 NYS Budget supports families by making services more affordable and accessible. It includes a new BABY Benefit to ease early childhood costs, an evidence-based tool to reduce poverty. It invests $2.2B in childcare and funds youth programs, LGBTQ+ orgs, and food security.

I was pleased to meet with the CEO of the Guthrie Clinic, which provides vital care across SD-52. I appreciated the chance to learn more about their important work and discuss ways to strengthen health care access and sustainability in our region. Thank you to the Guthrie team.

I know how vital clean water, natural resources, and community health are to our way of life. These pipelines threaten it all. Governor Hochul and the DEC must protect NY’s water and climate, and deny these polluting pipelines.



The Broome County Fair has enriched Whitney Point for 150 years. I was proud to join Assemblymember Donna Lupardo in presenting a joint resolution honoring this milestone. Thank you to the Broome County Agricultural Society and all who make the fair possible each year.

I had the honor of attending the Good Trouble Lives On rally in remembrance of Congressman John Lewis on the anniversary of his passing. Congressman Lewis taught us that getting into “good trouble” is essential to protecting and advancing our democracy.




The 2026 New York State Budget strengthens transportation and public safety infrastructure across the state. For the first time, Centro will receive state transit aid for serving Cortland County, expanding access to reliable public transit in Central New York.


This summer, our Ithaca office will be open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM and closed on Fridays. While the office will be closed on Fridays, our team will remain active in the district and responsive to emails and calls.

Ithaca Children’s Garden is an award-winning, public garden designed for kids and is driven by a mission to connect children to nature to create a more beautiful and resilient world.Thank you to the staff for having me and for contributing a wonderful space for children to play.

The YMCA of Ithaca continues to take meaningful steps to address childcare shortages in the community by expanding to include a new childcare space. I was glad my office could join in celebrating this important milestone at the ribbon cutting.


It was a privilege to be part of the SUNY Reconnect roundtable at Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3) with SUNY Chancellor King. I’m excited to highlight the SUNY Reconnect program, which will be funded through the NYS FY 2026 Budget.



Starting this fall, NY State will provide free tuition to SUNY community colleges, along with fees, books, and supplies, for adults aged 25-55 who don’t already hold a college degree and want to pursue an associate degree in a high-demand field. wbng.com/2025/07/16/sun…
I had a great time connecting with our local small business community at the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce's Engaging Electeds Summer Soiree. It was great to network, share ideas, and celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship in our area.

As a member of the New York State Black Legislative Taskforce, we are launching a Statewide Listening Tour to hear directly from community members on how to use funds to uplift underserved communities across New York State. The Binghamton stop will be on Thursday, October 23rd.

My office hosted Community Office Hours at the Cortland Free Library. My team connected with community members to offer support on housing, healthcare, and more. Thank you to @SVHC_CortlandNY and Cortland County Mental Health Department for joining us.



I was immensely proud to be a part of the collaborative effort with our local and state partners to achieve the revitalization of the Greater Binghamton Airport. The ribbon cutting for this project is a testament to what we can achieve together.



I know how devastating floods have been for families and small businesses in the Southern Tier. I was proud to join the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation to announce a $4 million investment in the City of Binghamton and $5 million investment in Whitney Point.
