Black mothers are dying at an alarming rate during what should be a joyful time after giving birth. That’s why I have been so proud to work w/ @HealthNYGov to develop & implement the Medicaid doula services benefit rollout for 2024. NY can lead the way in eradicating disparities
My office was proud to join John Carpenter and UA Local 13 at their annual family picnic. Plumbers and Pipefitters keep our industries running and their highly skilled labor is critical to supporting the infrastructure of our communities. Thank you for helping New York thrive.

We're back with our mobile office hours at Irondequoit Public Library! We're here until 4 pm to connect with neighbors and share community resources in our District.

My team is at the Penfield Public Library today to share important resources and information about our community for you and your neighbors in District 55! Stop by and say "hello"–we will be here until 3 pm!

My office is at the Fairport Public Library today to share important resources and information about our community for you and your neighbors. Stop by and say "hello"–we will be here until 4 pm!

The heat didn’t stop my team from tabling at the Connected Communities Summer Bash! My office had a great time sharing resources with community members at Grand Ave Park.

Great to hear @goodwill_flx CEO & President Jen Lake speak on the importance of the 211/Life Line & 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. We know that a direct connection to compassionate care can save lives–my office is proud to support programs that uplift individuals in crisis.

Black women in NYS earn 66 cents for every dollar a white, non-Hispanic man makes. W/o pay equity, black mothers are ill-equipped to make ends meet. I am committed to fighting for anti-discrimination efforts in the workplace to create pathways for success for Black women in NYS.

I spoke with WXXI to highlight the importance of 988 for young people, and discussed how the federal government’s decision to end funding for the LGBTQ Youth Specialized Services program is a devastating choice. Listen in 👂
My statement on Congress' passage of Trump's domestic policy bill.

Had a great time with my fellow community members at Irondequoit Town Hall to kick off Fourth of July festivities. Thank you to all who joined in this tradition with good spirits and camaraderie.

During this legislative session, I remained committed to responding to New York’s mental health crisis with urgency and compassion. Thank you for trusting me to be your voice in Albany.
My statement on the Senate passing the One Big Beautiful Bill agenda.

Proud to announce that my bill with @sarahhartclark, the Student Lifeline Act, became law today. College students in NYS will have the 988 crisis number on their students IDs– a direct connection to compassionate, lifesaving care that helps address our youth mental health crisis.

Reminder that primary day is today! Remember to do your civic duty and get out and vote! Polls are open from 6 am to 9 pm. Find your local polling place: monroecounty.gov/elections-sites

My statement on the federal government's proposed cuts to the LGBTQ national suicide prevention hotline.

I was honored to join the Elder Justice Committee for their Speak Out event yesterday. By expanding available capacity at skilled nursing facilities and making their region-wide services more efficient, we can ensure all New Yorkers get the care they need.

On #Juneteenth, I am reminded of the historical impact and enduring legacy of our collective work for social good–when we are driven by justice, equity, and a fierce desire for change, we can move mountains. Thank you for joining me in fighting for a just future.

Everyone, regardless of who they love and how they identify, deserves economic equity. I remain committed to defending anti-discriminatory practices to create opportunities for all New Yorkers. #EqualPayNY #LGBTQIAEqualPay

Wishing a Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and father figures in our communities.

My office was proud to join Lifespan on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. In NYS, only 1 in 23 cases of elder abuse are reported. We must ensure our older adults receive the resources & support they need to live free from physical, emotional, or financial harm. #EndElderAbuseNY
