This week SCDOT celebrated completion of major projects in Columbia. With the addition of a dedicated bike lane on South Main, travel lane reduction on Harden Street, & landscaping & pedestrian safety measures in both areas, we’ve made tremendous improvements to our capital city.

10 years ago we lost 9 beautiful souls at Mother Emanuel. May we never forget Senator Clementa Pinckney, Cynthia Graham Hurd, Susie Jackson, Ethel Lee Lance, Depayne Middleton-Doctor, Tywanza Sanders, Daniel Simmons, Sharonda Coleman-Singleton and Myra Thompson.

Always appreciate the opportunity to speak with people and learn what’s on their minds. This week I got to sit down with members of both the SC Hospital Association and the CWC Chamber in West Columbia. Thanks for having me!

Thank you to the South Carolina Convenience and Petroleum Marketers Association for hosting us. I appreciate the work your members do to keep us all on the road during this busy summer driving season and all year round.

Had a great time today out at the Congaree national Park with DNR Director Tom Mulliken. Farming the land has instilled in me an appreciation for the role we all play in conservation and protecting the resources of our special state.

Congrats to GadgetBoy on their one year anniversary on Devine St in Columbia. They’re the place to go for electronics and repairs. It’s great to see local businesses growing and thriving in our community.

I’m always encouraged to see the enthusiasm and curiosity displayed by our next generation of leaders. Thank you to the @YoungDemsofSC for hosting us and to everyone who came out to join the discussion on a hot summer Saturday.

Thanks to everyone who came out to our End of Session Wrap-Up at 701 Whaley. We had a lively discussion and shared some great ideas for our future. Hope you’ll join us tonight at the John Ford Community Center in St. Matthews at 6PM!

Really appreciate everyone that came out to our first End of Session Wrap-Up at Savage Craft in West Columbia. We had a good discussion and shared great ideas. Looking forward to next week in Columbia and St. Matthews. Hope you can make it!

All the young ladies at Palmetto Girls State were rocking it this morning. I can’t wait to see the great things they’ll do. Keep stacking wins, girls!

The 2025 Legislative Session is officially in the books. I hope you’ll join me to discuss everything that happened and where we go from here.

Good to catch up with everyone at Harvest Hope. I’m proud of our entire Midlands community, for the generosity of businesses and individuals, that ensures this important organization can continue to serve those in need.

Enjoyed spending time yesterday in St. Matthews with employees at SCDOT and the town to just say thank you for their hard work to keep our roads and streets maintained.

It was good to see members of the S.C. Free Clinic Association at the Statehouse this week. They play an important role in making sure more South Carolinians have access to quality healthcare and in improving health outcomes for those they serve.

Enjoyed speaking with members of the South Carolina Credit Union League. They play an important role in serving the financial needs of South Carolinians.

This week I was honored to receive the Global Eco Adventures Legislator of the Year Award. I appreciate the work GEA is doing to preserve South Carolina’s natural resources for future generations.
