For its season opening concert on September 25, the Czech Philharmonic presents Ravel's Piano Concerto in G major and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64, with pianist @SeongJinCho, conducted by Semyon Bychkov.

The Nobel Prize Concert honours the year’s Nobel Prize laureates. On December 8, Semyon Bychkov conducts the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra in Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, and Spanish violinist María Dueñas makes her Konserthuset Stockholm debut.

In September Semyon Bychkov will conduct Strauss: Vier letzte Lieder TrV 296 and Shostakovich: Symphony No. 8 in C minor, Op. 65, with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester and soprano Christina Nilsson, at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg.

Semyon Bychkov is to conduct a new production of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, directed by British actor and director Ralph Fiennes. Performances will take place at Opéra national de Paris next year from January 26 to February 27.

Today marks the 161st anniversary of the birth of composer Richard Strauss. Of his life and work, Semyon Bychkov said: "Strauss was just 34 when he wrote Ein Heldenleben. It's extraordinary that someone would write a complete musical autobiography at such a young age."
