When human traditions masquerade as divine principle, especially in the realm of Christian ministry, the results are not merely illogical but spiritually dangerous.
A God who gives freely cannot be honored by a church that sells ministry selectively.

Until we root our decisions about money and ministry not in consensus but in Scripture, we will continue to contradict ourselves, sending mixed messages to a watching world about what kind of God we serve.
The modern church has unwritten rules about what kinds of ministry can be sold and what kinds cannot—not on the basis of Scripture, but by arbitrary consensus. The result is a baffling landscape of contradictions.
The modern church operates under a web of unexamined assumptions concerning money and ministry.
Being worthy of wages is different than being licensed to peddle the Word.
Who are you going to trust more? Someone who's trying to sell you something, or someone who's offering you something freely, with no strings attached?
And thus spake Moses unto modern Christian publishers: “Let my people copy!”
