We have the strongest economy in the world, but Powell’s refusal to cut rates are keeping mortgage rates near 7% — pricing families out of homes. Lower rates would unleash the economy, ease the housing crisis, and help Americans afford a home.
🇺🇸 6 Months, 6 Wins In April, we expanded the Tribal HUD-VASH program to support our Native American veterans at risk of becoming homeless. Our veterans sacrificed greatly for our country, and this program helps provide them opportunities for safe and affordable housing.
🇺🇸 6 Months, 6 Wins @POTUS restored common sense and biological truth that there are only two sexes — MALE AND FEMALE. We acted to ensure men are not allowed in HUD-funded shelters for women.
🇺🇸 6 Months, 6 Wins Overregulation strangles developers’ ability to build housing and raises costs for the consumer. We struck down 12 burdensome regulations that increased costs.
Lord, you are our light in the midst of darkness. We pray you continue to bless this great nation and guide @POTUS’ hand as he leads our country to a brighter, more prosperous future.
🇺🇸 6 Months, 6 Wins The first regulation we tore down was the Obama-era AFFH rule that turned Washington D.C. into a local zoning board, dictating how localities develop their communities.
🇺🇸 6 Months, 6 Wins Under the Biden administration, illegal aliens were granted access to HUD programs. We closed the spigot to ensure taxpayer-funded housing programs only benefit American citizens.
🇺🇸 6 Months, 6 Wins After just one week on the job, we uncovered $1.9 billion in “misplaced” funds and started trimming the fat on $260 million in wasteful contracts — including over $4 million in DEI contracts.
The current HUD HQ is falling apart everywhere you turn. I witnessed this firsthand today. It’s not suitable for HUD staff or the people we serve. Moving day can’t come soon enough.
President Trump’s economic policies are working but Powell’s excessively high interest rate is holding us back. Cutting the interest rate would unleash our economy and positively impact mortgage rates — bringing the American Dream of homeownership back within reach.

Former Washington Redskins defensive lineman and Super Bowl champ Jason Buck: To see @POTUS get involved in something like that is just fantastic for us... I'm a Native American... and a proud one — and a proud Washington Redskin from the glory days of Joe Gibbs.
I played in the NFL and was drafted by the Washington Redskins. Not the “Washington Football Team” or the “Commanders.” @POTUS is right. It’s time to bring the Redskins’ name back.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. Please continue to pray for the communities of Texas Hill Country. Please continue to pray for our President, and his whole administration, that we may serve the American people in the way we have been called to serve.
After the cameras are off and the coverage fades, HUD will still be there to help those affected by the Texas floods. In fact, we are just beginning our mission. Here are a few of the actions HUD is taking to help Texas rebuild in the wake of this terrible disaster.
The $30m in the FY26 THUD appropriations bill secures housing for young adults aging out of foster care. Thank you, @FLOTUS, for your continued dedication to serving our most vulnerable youth and @rep_stevewomack for securing an additional $5 million for this critical program.
Fostering the Future || New Housing Commitment America’s foster youth received a $30 million housing commitment in yesterday’s FY26 THUD appropriations bill. Thank you @rep_stevewomack and the House Appropriations Committee for supporting this key priority of Fostering the…
.@SenWarren, when HUD’s headquarters needed $500 million in repairs, we decided to move and save taxpayers millions in rent. Powell wants to SPEND 5X THAT on the Fed’s building. We are not the same. One is good stewardship; the other is a textbook DC swamp spending spree.
The Biden administration created the PAVE task force as the solution to a DEI Boogeyman, creating mountains of red tape in the process. We ended Biden’s PAVE task force — restoring common sense and putting the American Dream of homeownership back within reach.
The PAVE task force exemplified government overreach by increasing bureaucracy aimed at addressing so-called systemic biases in the home appraisal process. We disbanded the PAVE task force to cut unnecessary red tape and refocus FHA efforts on serving all Americans.
