My heart is hurting for our community as the devastating wildfires rage over Southern California. Thank you to the firefighters and first responders working tirelessly to protect Californians. Please continue to listen to local officials and follow evacuation orders.

I am thinking of those impacted by the wildfires in Southern California and praying for the first responders who are taking heroic action to help keep communities safe. Please listen to local officials, evacuate immediately if you are told to do so, and take care of each other.

Some of my favorite moments from 2024 included traveling across our great nation and meeting new people. Thank you for welcoming me to your communities and sharing your stories with me.

Our world is a better place because of President Carter. His life and legacy continue to inspire me — and will inspire generations to come.

Doug and I were honored to speak with service members on Christmas and thank them for all that they and their families sacrifice to keep our nation safe.

12 years ago, 20 first-graders and six educators were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School. They should still be with us—finishing their first semester of college, teaching, laughing, and making new memories. We must honor their memory with action that addresses gun violence.
