It's baffling that storage vendors (esp. on-prem S3) are launching #vectorDB products. 1. Tethering a DB to a storage system 😱 2. Low value add: 1 choice of DB which is a DIY-able OSS in any case. I created a good #S3 vector search stack from scratch in 4 days🤷♂️. Why buy?
Last month I updated #SolidFire Collector ("SFC") to v2. There are no new metrics, but it now uses #InfluxDB 3 which means SFC v2 will last as long as any SF environment (Python 3 w/o SolidFire SDK with Influx DB 3 released in 2025). github.com/scaleoutsean/s…

Using keyboard to navigate, it took me some five tries to get "create-and-delete-a-volume" done in under 25 seconds. With some binding customizations and a QoS policy in place, it could be done in 15s. It works better than it looks in the video. #SolidFire #keyboardNavigation
