Just 2 days into the Training Camp grind

Blank: “I think this team has a lot of potential on both sides of the ball… we’re in a better place now, team wise, coaching wise, than we have been in a number of years.”

Blank says he thinks the Falcons have the right people in leadership moving forward.

Blank mentioned how the most successful teams have consistency in “coaching staff, front office and ownership.”

Arthur Blank mentions that a lot of the lull the team has faced in recent years is related to quarterback play. For reference, the Falcons have missed the playoffs in seven consecutive seasons. Only the Jets have a longer active playoff draught.

Blank says he’s excited about the five nationally televised games and sixth standalone game in Germany

Blank talked up the quality of this year’s draft class. Says he feels strongly that “we’re in a difference place from where we’ve been in recent years.”

Blank says he thinks Penix played well in his three games last year but “it’s also important to remember, he only has three games played.” Says the team would be incredibly happy if they can get a duplicate run from MPJ that they got out of Matt Ryan.

Blank talked about how the goal is to be one of those “6 or 7 best teams” every year instead of just a one year wonder.
