The #earthquake may have disrupted my remarks at the UN Security Council, but what I called for is far from earth shattering. On behalf of all children in Gaza, I demanded action. The world has the tools to address this crisis. It merely lacks the political will to use them.
#BREAKING: “You’re making the ground shake!” UN Security Council hears as mid-morning #earthquake interrupts briefing on the situation in the Middle East.
Thank you @NickKristoff, for your searing and gutwrenching account of the impact of aidcuts. A waste of money, human potential and hope, indeed. The Waste Musk Created nytimes.com/2025/06/21/opi…
Grateful for meaningful conversations this week with Members of Congress and their staff on bipartisan efforts to protect children living through crisis—from Syria and Afghanistan to the DRC and Myanmar. @RepHuizenga @RepTonyGonzales @RepNewhouse

Sustainable progress happens when we come together around shared priorities. Special thanks to Senators and staff for your time and commitment to protecting children here in the U.S and Globally. @ChuckGrassley @SenJackyRosen @SenJeffMerkley @LindseyGrahamSC @ChrisCoons

Thank you @JimSciutto for having me on @CNN to spotlight the worsening crisis for kids in Gaza. Since March 2 aid has barely reached those most in need. @SavetheChildren continues to call for full, unimpeded aid access. Over 1M kids remain at risk. youtube.com/watch?v=-OExjS…
Hundreds of days into this war, innocent children still die seeking aid. Outrage isn’t enough. The killing of civilians has become routine but it should never be normal. Don’t grow numb. Stay loud. Demand a ceasefire. Demand accountability. Demand humanity.
This morning, an airstrike killed 15 civilians, including 10 children and two women, and injured many more outside Project HOPE's health clinic in Deir al Balah, Gaza. The strike occurred as patients had gathered outside the clinic, awaiting its opening to receive treatment for…
It’s time to retire the term foreign assistance. In @SSIReview, I joined Alex Puutio to explore how the development sector can evolve in the face of government pullbacks—and why this moment of disruption is also a chance to reimagine our future. 🔗 ssir.org/articles/entry…
I’m honored to join the @BrookingsGlobal @AEI commission on rural poverty alongside @GovChrisSununu & @HeidiHeitkamp. @SavetheChildren has served rural America for over 90 years and we’re proud to help drive lasting change for children and communities.
Nearly 1 in 5 Americans call rural communities home. Yet these areas often receive insufficient attention in policy circles. On July 1, join @BrookingsInst and @AEI for the launch of a bipartisan commission on prosperity and resilience in rural America: brookings.edu/events/america…
I joined @CarlNasman to talk about the rising death toll in Gaza. Children urgently need medicine, clean water & protection, but aid is severely restricted. This horrific situation is man-made. The violence needs to end or kids will continue to suffer. bit.ly/3ZVLMoP
Never in my lifetime did I imagine children would be left to endure such unthinkable trauma. The aid reaching Gaza is nowhere near enough. Most can’t access it, and it won’t stop the hunger, illness, and suffering. I spoke with @margbrennan about this crisis.
Save the Children CEO Janti Soeripto says the "new mechanism" for Gaza aid under the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, an organization backed by Israel and the U.S., "doesn't seem to work," and it has led to "a militarization of aid," after there have been deaths and gunfire at…
Save the Children CEO Janti Soeripto says the U.S. has shown "an effort" and "recognition" of the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, as civilians there face mass starvation, but attempts to help so far have been "completely ineffective and inadequate."
Today at the UN Security Council I called on world leaders to do their jobs and fulfil their commitments to protect civilians and children in conflict. Over 470 Million children, more than 1 in 6 now live in areas affected by conflict.

Yesterday I joined @cnni 's @LyndaKinkade to talk about the desperate situation for children and their families in Gaza. Humanitarians must be given unimpeded, immediate access to deliver life-saving aid. Watch here: youtu.be/POj_P9HicDI
We are grateful to U.S. leadership for facilitating progress toward peace in eastern DRC and are encouraged to see such strong commitments from key stakeholders. Safety and peace are critical for thousands of children in eastern DRC.
The United States is proud to support the DRC and Rwanda in this important step toward peace.
