Knuckles appears when tails gets kicked by shadow in the new trailer, but in the first one he wasn't there?? Does that mean cropping out characters is actually a thing?

I'm planning on reanimating the credit scene for Sonic 3 but with the adventure models The actual credit scene may be in 8-bit just like how it was in the previous movies. But since this movie is gonna be based on SA2, it would make more sense for it to be in 3D what do u think
