Bind my wandering heart to thee. From the hymn "Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing." This is the view across the Marshwood Vale where I live in Dorset. With the sea in the distance. Note to self - don't paint long thin pictures as they are much trickier to frame!!

Is all that we see or seem But a dream within a dream? Edgar Allan Poe Damselflies and dandelions in watercolours. Summer dreaming.

The life that I have Is all that I have And the life that I have Is yours. The love that I have Of the life that I have Is yours and yours and yours. Leo Marks Just a part of an encrypted poem by Leo Marks sent to Violette Szabo of the SOE during the 2nd World War.

Wonderful ducks. With quotes from Mark Twain, Lewis Carroll, Einstein & Shakespeare. ps the first two are greetings cards

No need to hurry No need to sparkle no need to be anybody but onself Virginia Woolf

I wanted to show this picture again today because of the words (by Wendell Berry) Last week I had to go to London. This week I had to go to Bath. And whilst both are beautiful in their own ways, I am a country girl and all I want is to be home.

Some sunflower love this morning. I do love them but I find, with a healthy squirrel population around the garden, they are challenging to get to this state these days. They do love to eat the flower heads and don't even wait for fully formed seeds these days.

As it's peak dragonfly time, here are four close ups of my dragonfly pictures. Though they take me ages, I really, really enjoy painting them and try to get better every time.

Shallow pools are so important for our animals. Last night I found one of the hedgehogs in one of our water bowls. Made my heart sing to see it having a cooling little soak. With shallow water, it's not a danger. But it could just be a life saver.
This old paddling pool was a source of so much fun 💦🌿 After my kids' had finished with it, owls, stoats - even a badger - came for a dip, whilst the birds and even a hedgehog often drank here🦡🐾
An old, forgotten painting. I'd just learnt how to put a full colour wash on the background of a painting. Just discovered masking fluid. Just got bold enough to do some pictures without words. So I guess from a pretty important time. I love Jays - my little oak planters.

Four random pictures today! But all about love as twitter is always lacking love, empathy and kindess. I've put authors (where known) in the Alt Text.

A new painting. Unfinished because I messed it up yesterday. The lesson being think what to do many times, paint once. On the plus side, it's been so enjoyable painting this beautiful barn owl.

Everything in nature is about balance. And flowerpots are, of course, the chose place to sleep for cats and foxes. ❤️

Rumi — 'Life is a balance of holding on and letting go.'

Friendship is a shelter tree. Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Have a beautiful day ❤️

Beautiful blackbirds and a little bit of butterfly time in our rewilded field.

Dear friend, I felt it shelter to speak to you. Emily Dickinson - putting into words so well what we feel.
