What's stunning about this hunger crisis in Gaza is that it is not unfolding in some remote part of the world, allowing leaders to feign ignorance; no, this starvation is in the headlines, on television and much discussed -- yet still the world shrugs and the US is complicit.
As a longtime humanitarian who has battled famines and hunger crises, I fear that starvation in Gaza has now passed the tipping point and we are going to see mass-scale starvation mortality. A thread on famine momentum, famine response, and what it means for Gaza today.
Polls show Democratic voters have a less favorable opinion of Israel than they do of Cuba. Yet Democratic Party policy supports strict sanctions against Cuba and unconditional military aid to Israel.
The term “humanitarian crisis” obfuscates more than it reveals. It’s forced starvation. It’s blockade. It’s genocide. It’s manmade & it’s only solution is divestment, freedom, & justice. Anyone calling for “aid” without these is calling for death, just slower.
Sen. @ChrisVanHollen on @FaceTheNation: "This is a big lie, the claim that when UN organizations were delivering food to Palestinian civilians, that it was being systematically diverted to Hamas. I want to say loudly and clearly, this is a big lie." cbsnews.com/news/chris-van…
It’s way too late, but the truth has a way of coming out. Forget the airdrops and scrap GHF — let the UN organizations resume their humanitarian delivery operations NOW to stop the ongoing starvation: nytimes.com/2025/07/26/wor…
Fox News took Jeanine Pirro off air because "she's crazy" and "nuts." Their words, not mine. Now we're going to trust her with the lives and liberty of the people of DC? This is just absurd.
You do not have to kill the majority of a population for it to be a genocide. Roughly 4% of Bosnian Muslims were killed by the Serbs, which is just slightly higher than the percentage of Gaza Palestinians killed by the Israelis. Few people deny that the Serbs committed genocide.…
Is Trump’s America a suitable location for the World Cup and the Olympics?
Every day, the horrors in Gaza reach new, unimaginable depths. And as starvation spreads, Netanyahu and Trump remain complicit in a scheme to use US taxpayer dollars to replace humanitarian aid orgs with mercenaries — leading to more death and devastation. This cannot continue.…
I am sick of the tired platitude that for an ally like Israel we must not disagree publicly or in the media. Not when there is mass starvation. This is the time for every American to speak up publicly. PM Netanyahu, let in the food, medicine & aid. We must not be complicit.
The Democratic Party leadership claims they support press freedom and better access to healthcare, but that's just for Americans. For Palestinians, they are fine about supporting the killing of journalists and medical workers.

Yet politicians of both parties in Washington keep claiming otherwise in order to defend Israeli blockade. cnn.com/2025/07/25/pol…
Thousands of Israelis are out protesting their government's ongoing genocide. Let's remember: Not all are complicit.

I've called my congressman and both of my senators, all of whom are Democrats. None of them are changing their position about providing unconditional military aid to Israel.

From Robert Reich. Are you hearing that, Columbia University? Cornell University? University of Virginia? University of Michigan? CBS?

The U.S. government insists that France recognizing the anti-Hamas Palestinian government somehow supports Hamas and attacks victims of Hamas terrorism.

As part of the merger deal approve by Trump's FCC, Skydance Media agreed to eliminate Paramount’s diversity, equity, and inclusion practices and to root out the supposed liberal “bias” at CBS News.
We are now seeing the consequences of these new laws. They won't allow you to have an abortion, but then they won't provide medical care if you keep the baby.

Thousands of Israelis are protesting the genocide their own government is committing. In a sea of silence, this takes real courage. Not all are complicit — some are brave enough to speak out.
