No jirga has the authority to decide life and death. This was a premeditated act of murder, an affront to law, humanity, and the values of any civilised society. The state must respond not with silence, but with the full force of the law: Sherry Rehman e.thenews.com.pk/detail?id=4206…
strongly condemn the tragic killing of a girl in Rawalpindi under a jirga decision. From Balochistan to Rawalpindi, women are being murdered under the cover of tradition. This is a deadly trend that must end. Women must not be sacrificed in the name of customs.
Donald Trump himself has said 27 times that he played a key role in the ceasefire, yet the Modi government remains stubbornly in denial. They refuse to acknowledge it but don’t have the courage to call Trump a liar either. Pakistan is committed to peace in the region.
There is no evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam attack. Even India’s former Home Minister has exposed the Modi government’s false narrative. If India truly believed in the truth, it wouldn’t have rejected Pakistan’s offer for an independent investigation.
Hiding the identities of the Pahalgam attackers shows a deliberate attempt to evade the truth. When there is no evidence, baseless accusations become the only refuge. Pakistan prioritizes peace in the region, while India continues to rely on a path of constant blame.
Former Indian Home Minister Chidambaram's statement on Pahalgam attack exposes the false narrative of the Indian government. India should reflect on its internal issues and security failures. No evidence has ever been presented proving Pakistan's involvement in the attack.
Happy Birthday, President Asif Ali Zardari! Your leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to democracy are a shining chapter in Pakistan’s history. The 18th Amendment, empowering the Parliament, BISP, and CPEC — all stand as testament to your foresight. Pakistan Khappay! 🇵🇰
Happy 70th birthday to President Asif Ali Zardari! He is Pakistan’s only civilian president to complete his term and voluntarily transfer power — a milestone for democracy. His leadership also saw the passing of the historic 18th Amendment.
Happy 70th birthday to President Asif Ali Zardari. A symbol of patience, sacrifice, and commitment to democracy. The only civilian president to complete a full term and transfer power peacefully — a historic democratic milestone.
strongly condemn Israel's occupation of the West Bank. Its defiance has turned the Middle East into a powder keg. The West Bank is Palestinian land — no resolution can change that. The world must act to end this illegal occupation.
Strongly condemn the Israeli resolution to annex the West Bank. #Israel's unchecked impunity has turned the Middle East into a churning powder keg. The West Bank belongs to #Palestine — no paper resolution can change that reality. The international community must act immediately…
Strongly condemn the Israeli resolution to annex the West Bank. Israel's obstinacy has turned the Middle East into a powder keg. The West Bank belongs to Palestine — no paper resolution can change that reality- @sherryrehman
The resolution, tabled by PPP parliamentary leader Senator Sherry Rehman, was supported by all parties across the aisle except JUI-F, which refused to sign. dawn.com/news/1926448
Grateful to all the parties across the opposition/ treasury benches in the Senate of Pakistan for generously supporting a House Resolution against the heinous practice of murdering women in the name of "honour". Thank you @BBhuttoZardari for always supporting women's rights ! We…
A strong House Resolution on the Balochistan murders now needs to be followed up to ensure “justice” is not privatised again. As I said on the floor of the Senate, it doesn’t matter if she was a mother of 5. She did not deserve to be killed in cold blood by people who have NO…
Resolution Moved by PPP parliamentary leader Sherry Rehman, the resolution condemned so-called honour killings as acts of murder under the law, rejecting any justification based on cultural, tribal or traditional notions of ‘ghairat’ (honour). e.thenews.com.pk/detail?id=4204…
House has called on the government to ensure an immediate and transparent investigation into the Balochistan incident and to bring all those involved — including those who convened the jirga — to justice. Law enforcement agencies must be empowered to take full and decisive action
So-called “honour” killings are in fact a serious criminal act, not a matter of dignity. The Senate has demanded an immediate and transparent investigation into the incident, strict legal action against all those involved.
Honor killings are unacceptable under any pretext. Laws exist, but lack of enforcement is alarming. Immediate, transparent action is needed to bring all involved to justice.
