Have now enabled the new labs experiment named Web Guide: an AI-organized search results page. This experiment puts the 'Web' tab within the search bar to use, which was launched a while back for users who didn't like the AI features, but now it has AI integrated. It presents…
New keyword research opportunity just dropped in Gemini Pro with 'Suggestions'. A similar version appeared in AI Mode within labs recently 👀

Excellent compte à suivre (surtout en ce moment) La newsletter mensuelle est riche, ils font un job de veille top.
This AI overview format is the worst possible outcome for publishers, it only benefits Google. 1. The answer displays prominently at the top with citations only visible once clicked (unlikely) 2. No impressions show in GSC after the search - decoupling concerns mitigated
As an extension to the link icons from May, Google is now testing out a ‘see more’ link extension that appears at the end of description snippets. When clicking the text, it takes you directly to the text presented in the snippet. Learn more: brodieclark.com/notes/#jul-2025

Google has dropped the sponsored tag for the related products and services search suggestions feature. Instead of showing the previous sponsored tag, it is now showing a long notice at the bottom. Details: brodieclark.com/notes/#jul-2025

GMC Next Update: I'm now seeing 'Product Studio' with it's own tab across several accounts. It was previously more hidden in the dashboard within 'Products', now it's moved to its own section. The section now contains more features such as themes and an 'explore' tab.

Google is testing out some very large favicons on mobile with the URL & title link aligned to the right. I've seen several variations, with the most noteworthy having the title link at the top. Both variations have the site name removed completely. Source: brodieclark.com/notes/#jul-2025

SEO Tip: Google recently introduced a 'physical stores' filter in GMC Next for organic traffic. Can see when we launched a local inventory feed to gain access to free local listings - this is the only filter you can use to isolate this data. More info: brodieclark.com/google-free-lo…

Google is currently testing out a 'sponsored by' title alongside ads on mobile. They ran a similar test to this in October of 2024, with the current version looking slightly different with a grey divider. More details: brodieclark.com/notes/#jul-2025

Google is giving more visibility to AI Mode by linking to it from the homepage in the US. This is the first time Google has linked to it by default in the US with the notice: "Try AI Mode and search like never before". First spotted by @SachuPatel53124. brodieclark.com/notes/#jul-2025

Google is showing a coloured rainbow shade behind the logo on desktop. This is showing by default for all US searches, which I suspect is designed to draw attention to the AI Mode tab (which has a coloured animation on first load). h/t @SachuPatel53124 brodieclark.com/notes/#jul-2025

Google is continuing to test different ad slider treatments on mobile. Instead of the previous dark line that goes across halfway, there is now a shorter blue line that moves to the other end when viewing the next ad. Details: brodieclark.com/notes/#jun-2025
