Well there's a sight for mid July; a half dozen record LOWS are broken this morning across the upper Midwest. Some of these records, like the one in Fargo, are quite old.

Got a social memory today from about 13 years ago when I was fresh out of weather school and applying for jobs everywhere. I would eventually cross off every name on this list and another before landing my first job. I'm very thankful to be where I am today.

6-hour maximum MRMS QPE over the 4th and 5th show, in some locations, a 1-in-1000 year event from this weekend's interior Texas flooding. What stands out to me is how incredibly localized the return periods are. This part of the world is no stranger to flash flooding. @foxweather

2.3 trillion gallons of water fell in just two days over a 48 county area of inland Texas this weekend. That would fill Texas' Lake Travis 6 times. @foxweather

The ASOS Martin State Airport is the warmest in the country at 9am.

June 1st is the end of our CONUS snow season and what a fun one it was. Winner: southeast -- many locations had once-in-a lifetime type snow in January which accumulated up to a foot in parts of LA and the FL Panhandle. Loser: the Northern tier through the Northeast, again...

Clear skies and calm winds can really drop temps like rock overnight. Down to 35° this morning!

Shout out to the great regional climate centers that went dark today. Had great relationships with the folks at @SERCC and @MidwestClimate and we've made a lot of great broadcast-friendly graphics and automation with their data and tools.
Reminder about tonight: all your basic lands will become mountains

Wife says there's a fire at APG. Radar really shows it. Not uncommon but add the breeze today and our drought conditions to the mix. @TonyPannWBAL @JustinWeather @SteveSosnaWX

What a great snow season for DC on south. Baltimore to Boston, though, sheesh.

Global ensembles have been consistent with a midweek storm that is progressive/out of phase. Now the controls/deterministics are regressing to the ensemble mean. It's another win for probabilistic forecasting and old-time adages like "it snows where it wants to snow".
That SNL 50th concert was one of the best three hours of TV ever put together.
Here's the state of northeast snow following our fourth (?) southern slider type storm this season. Still waiting for a nor'easter. Will it ever come? Great season for parts of the DMV.

Grease the poles! And the salt the roads because there's snow in the forecast. E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES! #flyeaglesfly
