Congratulations to @JunsuKang2 , Daniel Wehner @WehnerLab & Helen Blau for their ISRB Rising Stars (JK, DW) and Lifetime Achievement (HB) awards! Stoked that they will receive the awards and present their work at the upcoming 2024 #EMBOtissueRepair workshop.
The ISRB is proud to announce the winners of the Rising Star and Lifetime Achievement awards. Congratulations to Daniel Wehner @WehnerLab and Junsu Kang @JunsuKang2 (Rising Stars); and Helen Blau (Lifetime Achievement).
Conference Alert: 'The Molecular Mechanisms of Developmental & Regenerative Biology' in Kobe, Japan. Attention all regeneration enthusiasts.
Thrilled to see this preprint out! Excellent work on the role of ROS in metazoan regeneration by @AuroreVullien, a joint PhD student with @stemdevevo, and everybody involved. Check the comments /@biorxivpreprint for more infos #ROS #Regeneration #Nematostella #Platynereis
Preprint alert! Brand new ms coming out of the collaboration between @stemdevevo and @RottingerL! Aurore Vullien, joint PhD student, investigated the role of ROS in metazoan regeneration, focusing on Platynereis and Nematostella. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
One decade after starting this journey, our collaborative paper with @Gibson_lab is finally out: rdcu.be/dtupS. It reports chromosome assemblies of the related sea anemones @Nematostella and Scolanthus callimorphus. Will be an important resource for the community.
Our latest: a tool to fix and extend gene models for scRNA-seq quantification. A strategy that we have been using for years in our sc atlases, now as an easy-to-use and efficient pipeline by @zolotarg. biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Check out details in Grisha's thread:
Genome annotations are often missing 3'-UTRs of the genes. This means that during scRNA-seq quantification, these genes are either miss some counts or not counted at all!

Last few days to register your interest for the 'Career Catalyst Mentorship Program' aimed to help post-doctoral fellows and early career group leaders transition to independence.
Great kick-off meeting of the @regenerateit_dn / @EU_Commission doctoral network to gain new insight into regeneration & opportunities for regenerative medecine using a large variety of research models. Fantastic to meet an amazing group of motivated PhD students and colleagues.
Regenerate-IT Kick-off meeting, @EuropeanCommiss funded PhD training programm ranging from flatforms to gene therapy. Wish I were a PhD student again! @berezikov @asimonstockholm @AzizAboobaker @Tanaxolotl @Enrique1Amaya and many others
1/4 #science tweet: new #preprint from our lab. We show that double-stranded RNA, a viral pattern, promotes apoptosis in #Nematostella. This phenomenon is conserved from cnidarians to humans. This work was led by Twitterless Itamar Kozlovski and @ajjb80 🧵 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
