I am SO TIRED of this ❌ Independent Contractor Rule ❌ Joint Employer Rule ❌ Banning non-competes
BREAKING: A Texas federal judge has ruled against the FTC's noncompete ban, which will no longer take effect next month. This adds to the long list of partisan judges obstructing the federal government's ability to regulate big business.
As Republicans passed their budget bill slashing health care and SNAP, @USDOL tried to quietly write regulations making it easier to: 1) Steal workers' wages; 2) Make workers less safe; 3) Intimidate workers trying to organize. This is what a War on Workers looks like.
Big win for workers! My amendment to block Trump's illegal attack on collective bargaining rights for DoD workers PASSED out of committee. Collective bargaining isn't a threat to national security; it is what workers deserve.
The Trump Admin is trying to strip collective bargaining rights from over one million federal workers, including Department of Defense employees, under the guise of “national security.” My amendment blocks this illegal union-busting because workers' rights are not a threat.
My latest: The Trump administration is destroying the labor infrastructure it claims to want to build up. #DOL Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer announced 63 deregulatroy actions in their agenda that will harm workers and working families. clasp.org/press-room/pre…
There are 75 million working women in this country, and we’re done being sidelined. It’s time for a bold national policy agenda that meets the realities of our lives: fair pay, safety at work, support for caregiving, and a real path to leadership. @the75million_
CLASP condemns the ICE raids in LA and the violent, unlawful arrest of SEIU-USWW David Huerta. LAPD aided ICE in terrorizing communities. clasp.org/press-room/pre…
The most annoying genre of tweets hating on DC isn’t the crime posts: it’s posts from people who live here and are too lazy to explore and discover cool stuff here. So you get crap like this
As a 100% Mexican living in DC, this is a ridiculous take. Also Ben, what do you know about Mexican food or Mexicans?! 🇲🇽 @WashProbs @eat_dc @EmbamexEUA
DC also has no good Mexican food because apparently virtually no Mexicans live here. All the Mexican restaurants are run by pathetic whites doing chipotle imitations. It is astounding. Idaho has better Mexican food than DC.
This #MayDay, let’s demand: --Paid sick leave for all --Fair scheduling laws --Stronger union protections --Dignity for immigrant workers Explore CLASP's work on labor justice: clasp.org/issues/educati… #MayDay2025
We should not forget that the fight for labor justice is not over. Even today, gig and temp workers often lack basic labor protections. CLASP urges local governments to expand rights for these workers—ensuring fair pay, benefits, and the right to organize. clasp.org/blog/localizin…
Today is May Day, also known as International Workers’ Day—a global moment to honor labor movements and renew our commitment to worker justice. From wage theft to unsafe conditions, too many workers still face exploitation. We must act. #MayDay2025 #LaborDay2025
Families are losing access to the basics: housing, health care, child care. Why? Because of the Trump administration’s ruthless DOGE cuts. Use the new DOGE Tracker to see what’s being dismantled—and fight back! clasp.org/doge-tracker/
The Trump admin has deported 3 US citizen children, all under the age of 7. This is outrageous behavior that threatens the livelihood of all children and families. amp.cnn.com/cnn/2025/04/27…
At #100Days in, there’s no better time to reflect on the new administration’s actions The #GoodJobs Collaborative will unpack whether these policies are benefitting or abusing workers, as well as launch a rating system that makes the distinction clearer. ↘️newamerica.org/education-poli…

I couldn't be more excited! 🥳🎉
We have a big announcement! CLASP’s Board of Trustees is proud to announce @wendychunhoon as our next president and executive director, starting May 15, 2025. She brings decades of experience in advancing racial, gender, and economic justice!
SNAP helps over 42 million people put food on the table—but its future is under threat. The House budget proposes slashing $230B, the largest cut in SNAP’s history. This isn't reform—it's a rollback that would deepen poverty and hunger nationwide.
