The Winnipeg Jets have re-signed Gabriel Vilardi to a six-year contract with an AAV of $7.5M. That's a fair deal for both sides in my opinion. Vilardi is a good TOP6 forward.

Lukáš Dostál has re-signed with the Anaheim Ducks to a five-year deal with an AAV of $6.5M. That's a very, very good contract for Anaheim in my opinion.

The Seattle Kraken have re-signed Kaapo Kakko to a three-year deal with an AAV of $4.525M. A fair contract for both sides. Kakko still has a potential to be a solid TOP6 winger.

If Mason McTavish from the Anaheim Ducks is truly available, every team should try to acquire him of course. Still only 22 years old & already a TOP6 offensive forward. However, I don't see why Anaheim would trade McTavish.

Sorry, I forgot he was diagnosed with testicular cancer right before training camp. And I'm so happy he's healthy, of course! A healthy is the most important thing in our lives. And I still think that teams shouldn't give long-term deals to bottom-six players.
Dakota Joshua has been traded from the Vancouver Canucks to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a 4th round pick '28. Another example of why teams shouldn't give long-term contracts to bottom-six players.
$10M cap hit in the 2026-27 season will be like $8.46M cap hit in the 2024-25 season. $10M cap hit in the 2027-28 season will be like $7.75M cap hit in the 2024-25 season. Yes, a lot of people will have to learn to count money with higher upper limits.
Man… betting $10M/AAV on Michkov is putting a massive amount of trust into him growing into a superstar
Yegor Chinakhov from the Columbus Blue Jackets has requested for a trade, citing misunderstandings with Dean Evason, the head coach of the Blue Jackets.

Philip Broberg is not on the NHL's list with TOP10 defensemen in the NHL who have yet to reach their 25th birthday. However, a players like Bichsel, Nikishin, Edvinsson are on it. Well, that's something. Faber at No. 2 is also funny by the way.

The Montreal Canadiens have signed Joe Veleno to a one-year, $900K deal. Veleno could be a solid defensive 4th line forward for Montreal.

Michael Carcone has signed with the Utah Mammoth to a one-year, $775K deal. Seems like Carcone has a lot of faith in his goalies.

Lucas Raymond is not on the NHL's list with TOP10 forwards in the NHL who have yet to reach their 25th birthday. However, a player like Bedard is on it. Well, that's something.

Bowen Byram has re-signed with the Buffalo Sabres to a two-year deal with an AAV of $6.25M yesterday. Byram is a TOP4 offensive defenseman, who struggled a lot defensively without Dahlin last year.

The Winnipeg Jets have re-signed Morgan Barron to a two-year deal with an AAV of $1.85M. Barron is a good defensive 4th line forward.

Arturs Silovs has been traded from the Vancouver Canucks to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Chase Stillman & 4th round draft pick '27. Low risk-high reward opportunity for Pittsburgh. I like this deal from Penguins' perspective.

Sometimes I'm thinking about how Matvei Michkov was excellent offensively last year.

Jeff Skinner has signed with the San Jose Sharks to a one-year, $3M. A completely fair deal for both sides. Skinner is an offensive TOP6 winger.

Seems like that many fans & insiders still have no idea how great Adam Fox is. Easily a TOP5 defenseman.

To be clear. I like this deal a lot from Maple Leafs’ perspective. Getting young defenseman & save $350K in the cap space for 38 years old enforcer is a massive win.
Henry Thrun has been traded from the San Jose Sharks to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Ryan Reaves. Thrun was not good with San Jose. The change of scenery could help him.
